Celebrating the Earth
This Month and Every Month
Not too far of a drive from the city and you’ve entered an oasis of lush trees and gushing creeks. I recently discovered the El Prieto Canyon Trail through a friend and am a bit surprised I’ve never heard of it before. The parking lot was quite full but once you head onto the hike, people disperse and it’s just you and nature. With several water crossings within the trail, water shoes or sandals make the trek a lot more manageable and fun.
Overall the hike was quite short. We spent about an hour walking and another half an hour sitting on a giant rock taking it all in. There are options to hop onto another trail which I plan to do in the future. I thoroughly enjoy hikes with water obstructions so I’ll definitely be back!
